Learn Self Hypnosis

If hypnotherapy doesn't feel quite right for you but you are interested in the skill of self-hypnosis for:

 

  • Stress reduction

  • Managing anxiety

  • Pain Management

  • Improving self-confidence

  • Enhancing concentration

  • Addressing specific behavioural or emotional issues

 

…then 3-4 sessions learning the skill of self-hypnosis may feel like a better alternative for you than standard therapist-delivered hypnosis.

The principles are the same: We can only change our reaction to events, and not events themselves, but learning the skill to develop an oasis of mental calm, no matter what (or who!) is happening around you can feel like possessing a superpower. I offer short courses (3-4 sessions) in which I can teach you this skill.  

 

Self-hypnosis is a process in which a person uses techniques or practices to induce a state of focused attention, deep relaxation, and heightened suggestibility in themselves. This is similar to the trance-like state achieved in therapist-directed or ‘traditional’ hypnosis, but it is self-induced rather than facilitated by a hypnotist.

 

During self-hypnosis, clients typically follow a ‘recipe’ similar to that constructed in therapist-directed hypnosis, a relaxation technique, a deepener leading to visualisation techniques that we have created with them.
